About
Janine Mullaney
owner
Janine’s decade-long teaching career cast her passion for canine care to the side, but always close to her heart. After a transformative shift in priorities, Janine is now able to dedicate more time and energy to her beloved dog-care venture. Today, operating as an official LLC, Dog Days of Gulfport (DDOG) has evolved into the dream Janine envisioned.
Canine guests at DDOG revel in exercise, relaxation, and boundless affection throughout their stay, leaving them thoroughly content. Meanwhile, their families appreciate Janine’s exemplary communication, providing them with unwavering peace of mind knowing their beloved pups are receiving top-notch care in their home away from home.
With a loyal base of returning clients and their furry companions, DDOG has unquestionably established itself as the cherished canine vacation destination for Gulfport’s locals.

Laverne
Laverne is a 14-year-old yellow lab. Given that she is in the later years of life, she’s enjoying her Florida retirement with lots of relaxation. Though she doesn’t play much anymore, she’s more than happy to join our dog visitors who enjoy a nice, long midday (or anytime) nap.
Laverne and her sister (Shirley, of course) were found wandering the streets of New York in 2018. They were fostered by Janine for what was supposed to be a temporary 4-month-long hospice stay. However, the girls decided they wanted to stick around, Shirley even surpassing her expected lifespan by almost 4 years!
So when Shirley passed in 2021, there was no way Janine and Laverne could part ways at that point and so began Laverne’s Floridian retirement.

Archibald
Archie is a 4-year-old Chinese crested and Jack Russell terrier. At 14 pounds, he has a minor case of small-dog syndrome. Once he’s done barking from behind his mom’s legs, he finds the courage to play with new furry friends.
Lucky for Archie, he was rescued before he was even born in 2020 in Massachusetts. His mother was found pregnant with 3 puppies, the scruffiest of the bunch being Archibald himself. For his first 10 weeks, he spent his time in his foster home wrestling his 2 foster siblings, who just happened to be 50lb Pit bulls.
While Janine was in education, COVID caused, for the first in her career, a work-from-home situation. She knew there would no better time to bring a puppy into the picture.

Norman
Norm is an 11-year-old Shar-Pei mix and is the newest one in our pack. He comes from an abusive and neglectful background, which has caused him extreme fear and though timid, he is eager to build relationships and is happiest when new furry friends are excited to play with him.
Norman was rescued in Florida from his situation in 2022. He then spent 8 months in a shelter while his 3 siblings got adopted out. He found his way to Janine as a foster and for 8 more months he searched for a family who would have the patience and understanding that he so deserved.
Finally, in 2023, Janine came to the realization that the best fit for him was in her home. He was officially adopted into the home where he will live out his senior years.
